Teresa Ratajczak, MD, is a general cardiologist with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Heart & Vascular with specialized training in advanced cardiac imaging. She also has a passion for advancing medicine through clinical research.
Helping her patients see the big picture about their heart health and overall wellbeing is the cornerstone of Dr. Ratajczak’s approach to care. “Everyone wants to live their best life, but the path might not always be easily envisioned,” she says. “Preventative medicine, diet, exercise and lifestyle choices are very important in making sure we achieve these goals.”
Her message to patients is simple: quality of life is everything. “My most important advice to patients would be to enjoy every moment of life. It is the most valuable gift that we are given,” Dr. Ratajczak says.
Healthcare and medicine have always been an important part of Dr. Ratajczak’s life. She realized at a young age that she wanted to make a difference in the world. She followed in her parents’ footsteps to make a difference as a doctor. “My mother and father are physicians who spent countless hours caring for patients, devoting their lives to cancer research and the advancement of medicine,” she says. “They are my biggest inspiration for pursuing a career in medicine.”
Dr. Ratajczak earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Physiology from the University of Louisville. She earned her medical degree at Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident. She completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease at Wright State University and in advanced cardiovascular imaging at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Ratajczak is board certified by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular MRI, Society of Cardiovascular CT, the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of these societies as well as the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ratajczak and her husband enjoy traveling to experience new places and cultures. They are also culinary enthusiasts and enjoy cooking at home. They also enjoy cycling on Ohio’s many bike trails, hiking and nature.
