Darlene grew up in Fort Wright, KY, and completed her undergraduate studies at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996. She earned her Master of Science in the Family Nurse Practitioner program from Northern Kentucky University in 2000. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is also a board-certified Clinical Cardiac Nurse Practitioner. Her areas of interest include general cardiology and currently women-specific cardiovascular medicine. Darlene has 20 years of cardiology nurse practitioner experience and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

When not with patients, she enjoys spending time with her son, two daughters, and her husband. She also enjoys playing sand volleyball, coaching competitive volleyball, and bike riding.
