CINCINNATI (March 20, 2025) – The Christ Hospital Health Network has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for advanced total hip and total knee replacement certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
“We are honored, once again, to receive the highest certification for total hip and total knee replacement care,” said Michael Palmer, MD, FAAOS, FAOA, Medical Director of the Musculoskeletal Service Line at The Christ Hospital Health Network. “As our population ages, more and more patients are in need of these joint replacements. As a regional leader in hip and knee replacements, our orthopedic team remains dedicated to do doing everything it takes to improve the health of our community and create patient value by providing exceptional outcomes and the finest experiences.”
The Christ Hospital underwent a rigorous onsite review. During the visit, a Joint Commission reviewer evaluated compliance with related certification standards. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. The reviewer also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
The Christ Hospital also holds Gold Seal of Approval certificates in advanced palliative care, inpatient diabetes care, advanced heart failure, primary stroke center and ventricular assist device.
