CINCINNATI (November 18, 2024) – The Christ Hospital has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade Report for Fall 2024. The nation’s most prestigious award for patient safety measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
The Christ Hospital is part of just 30% of hospitals nationwide to achieve a Fall 2024 "A". In Ohio, only 29 hospitals achieved an "A". The Christ Hospital is one of 503 hospitals nationwide and 1 of only 12 in the state of Ohio that achieved an “A” grade since Fall 2023.
“Our team members remain committed to doing everything it takes for the safety of all of our patients,” said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “Leapfrog’s “A” rating remains the gold standard for patients and their families looking for the highest safety measures in the healthcare industry. Our mission to improve the health of our community while creating exceptional outcomes all come from the quality practices at our healthcare network.”
An “A” grade is one of the most meaningful honors a hospital can achieve and one of the most valuable indicators for patients looking for a safe place to receive care. The Hospital Safety Score is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national independent nonprofit.
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for The Christ Hospital,” said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to The Christ Hospital, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
