CINCINNATI (May 8, 2024) – The Christ Hospital has been named to America’s Best Maternity Hospitals List for 2024 by Newsweek. The complete list can be found on Newsweek’s website. The Christ Hospital was the highest ranked system in the Cincinnati region and one of just 23 recognized in the state of Ohio.
Newsweek and Statista, one of the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking providers, have partnered for the third time to identify America’s Best Maternity Hospitals in 2024. High-quality maternity care, provided through the entire journey of pregnancy from conception through the birth and then in the postpartum period is key to the long-term health of newborns and women given that maternity care is a major component of a women’s healthcare.

In order to continue to improve that quality, just in the last year, The Christ Hospital Health Network partnered with OhioHealth Mothers’ Milk Bank to open two new breastmilk donation locations, one at our Mt. Auburn campus and the other at our Liberty Birthing Center to assist mothers having difficulty producing milk feed their newborns. With the addition of our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, we are able to provide an environment where mothers and babies can stay together. We are so pleased to be included in this recognition.”
The ranking is based on three pillars:
•Nationwide Online Survey: Healthcare professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about maternity processes e.g., neonatal and perinatal doctors, nurses and midwives were asked to recommend leading maternity hospitals in the U.S.
•Hospital Quality Metric: Indicators relevant to maternity care were considered.
•Patient Experience Survey: Survey of the overall patient experience in the hospital.
