Cincinnati (September 1, 2016) – The Christ Hospital Physicians – Surgical Oncology is pleased to welcome Kelly M. McLean, M.D. Dr. McLean is welcoming new patients at The Christ Hospital Physicians – Surgical Oncology offices located at The Christ Hospital Medical Office Building, 2123 Auburn Avenue, Suite 442, in Mount Auburn and The Christ Hospital Outpatient Center, 11150 Montgomery Rd, Building D, Suite 1000, in Montgomery. Dr. McLean will perform breast surgical procedures in operating suites of The Christ Hospital Outpatient Center in Montgomery and The Christ Hospital in Mount Auburn.
Dr. McLean comes to The Christ Hospital Health Network from the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in Cincinnati where she held the positions of staff surgical oncologist specializing in hepatobiliary cancers, melanoma, and diseases of the breast. While at the VA, she redesigned the process for outsourcing diagnostic breast imaging, bundled approval for biopsies and advanced breast imaging and created a breast disease consult and clinic in Women’s Health resulting in improved care and decreased wait time for evaluating abnormal screening mammograms. She was also the chair of the Cancer Care Committee for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
Dr. McLean graduated from The University of Michigan Medical School. She received post-graduate training, including as Chief Resident, at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She completed her surgical oncology fellowship at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa. She also completed numerous years of research training.
Dr. McLean’s special interest includes survivorship -- the physical, emotional, psychological recovery after breast cancer treatment.
