Aging is something that is definitely not fun, but it’s something that we all go through. As I get older, I am often looking for products and ways to help with fine lines, wrinkles, anti-aging and collagen production. From facials to supplements, there are so many ways to rejuvenate your skin. Recently, I found out about a procedure at The Christ Hospital’s AIM (Alliance Integrative Medicine) for Wellbeing that can help with anti-aging as well. It’s called Fotona4D®.
It’s a laser treatment and can help with everything from acne to rosacea (which I have) to skin tightening. To learn more about the Fotona4D® laser treatment, I chatted with
Katie Peeden, MD from The Christ Hospital’s AIM for Wellbeing.
What is Fotona4D®?
Fotona4D® is a groundbreaking non-surgical face lifting procedure resulting in a rejuvenated, natural-looking appearance. Dr. Peeden elaborated, “The Fotona laser uses two different wavelengths of light to deliver energy to varying layers of the skin. This stimulates collagen production and helps to revitalize skin structure and produce an overall skin rejuvenation.”
What can you achieve with Fotona?
Thera are lots of different procedures offered. Dr. Peeden explained, “Depending on how the energy is delivered, varying levels of skin and skin structures are targeted, allowing for a wide variety of therapeutic applications—including a non-surgical face lift, acne and rosacea treatment, hair removal, skin tightening, treatment of scars and treatment of spider veins. There are also treatments specifically for the eyes, lips and neck.”
Fuller, plumper, lips are a look that a lot of people want, but they don’t want to do fillers or injections. It turns out the Fontona4D® laser treatment can help with that, too. Dr. Peeden said, “It can help provide fuller lips and help with fine lines around lips and provide a nice pigmentation.”
How long does it take?
Treatments are for both men and women and last about an hour. Dr. Peeden said, “Treatments can be shorter or longer depending on the area we are treating. For instance, the 4D facelift lasts about an hour, but we can add on eyes and lips and neck, and then the treatment would be closer to 2 hours. We can treat pigmented areas. This only takes a few minutes per area.”
