Ross was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. He received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Xavier University. He then served 4 years as an Active Duty Nurse in the United States Army stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with his Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2016.

Ross believes that wellness and a healthy lifestyle are the most important factors in preventing disease. His special interests include management of obesity, diabetes, depression, and anxiety. He and his wife Jessica, who is also a nurse, have four sons.
